The Process: How We Can Work Together

• First, fill out my form to get in touch. This will give me a brief overview of your needs and how and when you would like me to contact you. I will reply shortly after to discuss your project in more detail and present the ways in which I can help.

• Second, we talk. I recommend a (free) Zoom consultation, so that we can get to know each other and I can develop a full understanding of your project and desired outcomes.
  
  If you have time, I will email you a questionnaire to complete and return prior to our call so that I can arrive already equipped with a plan to help you. 
  
  During our call, I will present my ideas regarding how we can accomplish your aims.

• Next, we make a plan. I send you a written proposal outlining my objectives, how I propose to achieve them, and an estimate of the cost.

• Then, we get formal(ish). If you are happy with my proposal, I create a brief for the project. This will detail both the work and the time frame in which it will be delivered. We put our agreement in writing, and you can sit back and relax.

• Time for me to write. Building on the foundations of our prior conversations, any relevant source material, and my own research, I create a first draft.

• The process of refinement. Hopefully you love my draft. But if you don’t, I’m going to keep working until you do. Through a process of feedback and revisions, we ensure that the finished project is everything you’d ever hoped for.

• Communication: I will be accessible throughout the project. Recall something you forgot to mention? Jolted awake by a sudden realisation or flash of inspiration in the middle of the night? No problem, we can work through it together. Whether you want to arrange another call or pop it in an email, I pride myself on always responding within a single working day.

• Punctuality: Not only do I always reply; I never miss a deadline.

• Meticulous Research: I’ll work tirelessly to immerse myself in your subject and understand your needs. This means more than getting to know your topic; I’ll strive to understand your audience and the best possible tone to spread your message. Great research is the bedrock of effective writing.

• Assured Satisfaction: I will never finalise a project if you are not 100% happy. While I endeavour to make the first draft perfect, I appreciate that our interpretations of perfect may be different. Your feedback is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the creative process. If you are not delighted, I am not finished.

• A Human Touch: It may not be essential to writing well, but I still believe it is important. I like to think of myself as friendly, honest, and respectful (albeit not too humble to say so!), and this will be reflected throughout our working relationship.
